Learning While Human

Sometimes we need a little extra help from an expert. With a decade of experience as a classroom teacher, I have helped students shift from learning to read to reading to learn using evidence-based strategies. If your child is struggling with reading, I can help.

In-Person Sessions

Tutoring takes place in your home or public library. In-person sessions allow for immediate feedback, and real-time adaptive teaching ensures engagement.

Learning Differences

I have worked with students with ADHD, ASD, and Dyslexia. I understand the challenges these students face when learning to read, and I adapt my sessions to meet their needs.

Personal Learning Plans

Each student’s learning plan is created based on their current strengths and learning goals, focusing on addressing any gaps and ensuring instruction is tailored to their needs.

Parent Reports

Parents receive a brief email after each session with information on how the session went. Every 10 sessions, a progress report will be shared with parents on the progress as it connects to the personalized learning plan.

Skills Assessment

To ensure learning plans and goals are set accordingly, each student completes a comprehensive skills assessment to create a benchmark. This is used to monitor progress and adjust instruction to continuously meet student needs.

Evidence-Based Practices

As a teacher, I use strategies and materials grounded in the science of reading. Lessons are designed based on the skill gaps identified in the assessment and instructional materials are selected based on your child’s needs.
